How to get the camera to reach the frame rate of the specification book?
The frame rate indicator in the camera specification usually refers to the maximum frame rate that the camera can achieve at the shortest exposure time. But in practice, the camera frame rate is influenced by factors such as exposure time, computer performance, data line bandwidth, and stability. The following steps can help you quickly identify the camera frame speed interference factors and optimize the application performance of the camera.
1. Use a performance-fulfilling computer configuration
Computer performance will directly affect the transmission speed of the camera, the computer should try to meet the recommended configuration.
2. Install camera software correctly
Before the acquisition starts, please install the recommended camera application software on the computer. You can download the software and driver through the official website (www.tucsen.net) "Support-Download".
3. Correct connection of the camera data and the power interface
Take the most common USB 3.0 interface. For example. Before connection, please use the original USB 3.0 data line or other USB 3.0 brand data line with quality assurance.
Please connect the USB 3.0 data cable directly to the USB 3.0 interface at the back end of the host. The USB3.0 interface is usually blue or with the "SS" logo. Try not to add an extension line or transfer through hub to avoid unstable data transmission.
4. Verify that the camera is functioning correctly
Power on the camera and open your computer's Device Manager. The camera power indicator is on (turns red) indicating that the camera power supply is normal, then follow the steps below to verify:
1)Device Manager-Image Device shows the corresponding camera model, it means that the driver is installed successfully.
2)Install and open the software, the camera power indicator changes from red to orange-yellow, then the camera works normally.
3)If the corresponding camera model is not shown in Image Devices, or USB 3.0 Camera with yellow exclamation mark is shown in other devices, please try to reinstall the driver.
4.Verify camera frame rate
For example, take the Dhyana 400BSI V3, open the camera software, set the minimum exposure time, and confirm that the frame rate is at or near the theoretical maximum frame rate.
1)If the frame rate is around 40 fps, the camera can work normally.
2)If the frame rate is around 20~30 fps, it may be related to the computer configuration, please make sure the computer power is connected, the battery configuration is in high performance mode, and whether other USB devices are connected at the same time. Or you can try to replace your computer with a higher performance one.
3)If the frame rate is around 6~7 fps, please check whether the USB cable has been extended or adapted by hub or other devices, if it is necessary to extend the cable, you can consider connecting it through USB to fiber optic.
6. Switch over the other USB 3.0 interfaces
If you have excluded the above possibilities, but the transmission speed is still wrong, consider switching to other USB 3.0 interfaces. The interface is usually located on the back of the computer power supply and data transmission performance is more stable than the interface on the front.
7.Cameralink Connection troubleshooting bandwidth method
Turn off the computer, open the cover of the computer mainframe, select the PCIe slot with a transmission bandwidth greater than 850MB/s (recommended PCIe3.0*8 or PCIe3.0*16 slot), insert grabber and connect the cl cable. Turn on the camera power, install grabber driver and restart the computer and the camera, according to the following steps to troubleshoot:
1)DESKTOP of Device Manager shows Active Silicon Frame Grabbers- FireBird Baseboard (1xCLD-2PE4) and the ports (COM and LPT) show FireBird CL Serial Port, then it means that grabber driver is installed successfully.
2)Open grabber software ActiveCapture, Device List under the display Unknown Device, then grabber is recognized normally.
3)Click Tools - Bandwidth Test, PCIe3.0*8 slot Bandwidth Measured greater than 1700MB/sec that is to meet the bandwidth requirements.
