Overview

The Aries 16 is a new generation of BSI sCMOS camera developed exclusively by Tucsen Photonics. With sensitivity which matches EMCCD and surpasses binned sCMOS combined with high full well capacity normally observed in large format CCD cameras, the Aries 16 provides a fantastic solution for both low-light detection and high-dynamic range imaging.

  • 16 μm Large Pixels

The Aries 16 not only adopts BSI sCMOS technology with a quantum efficiency of up to 90%, but also uses a 16-micron super large pixel design scheme. Compared to the typical 6.5μm pixels, the sensitivity is improved by more than 5 times for the capability of low-light detection.

    16 μm Large Pixels
  • 0.9 e- Readout Noise

The Aries 16 has an ultra low readout noise of 0.9 e-, making it possible to replace EMCCD cameras at equivalent speeds and without the associated pains of excess noise, gain aging or export controls. Smaller pixel sCMOS can use binning to achieve equivalent pixel sizes, however the noise penalty of binning is often too large forcing readout noise to be more like 2 or 3 electrons reducing their effective sensitivity.

    0.9 e- Readout Noise
  • Advanced Cooling Technology

Aries 16 incorporates Tucsen's advanced cooling technology, enabling a stable cooling depth of up to -60 ℃ below ambient. This effectively reduces the dark current noise and ensures the stability of measurement results.
